Welcome to the Club!
The Woodburn Day Care Club moved from their previous premises at Dalkeith Community Centre to the St Nicholas Buccleuch Parish Church Hall, 119 High Street, Dalkeith, EH22 1AX (opposite the County Hotel) in April 2011.. The telephone number remains the same (0131 654 1770). We are managed by Midlothian Voluntary Action
(MVA), the local council of voluntary service (CVS).
We cater for frail and house-bound elderly, and are currently opened
4 days per week: between 11am to 3pm on Mondays to Thursdays. Members
are transported to and from the club using Lothian
Community Transport Services.
The Club offers lunch facilities together with a wide range of activities
and outings. There's currently a waiting list for membership.
The Club relies on the good will and massive contributions from its volunteers
and is currently looking for more people to come forward to volunteer.
There is also a very successful local Carers Group that give support and
information to carers in the local area.
Anyone, in the Woodburn area in particular, can obtain more information
about these topics by phoning Janette Hope (Club coordinator) on
0131-654-1770 or e-mail janette.hope@mvacvs.org.uk.
